// bring (v.) //
Making friends is the foundational step in relationships. We are committed to intentionally bringing our friends into a deeper relationship. It is through this deepening of relationships with others that we hope that they too can discover and develop a relationship with God and also bring them into becoming a part of our Christian Family here at City Church.
// bridge (v.) //
To bridge is to connect people together and allow the rich growth of relationships. It is through relationships that people are added to City Church and Gods family. This is making sure that those that we bring have an avenue to become part of the family of City Church.
// build (v.) //
When a structure is built the diverse abilities and talents of people are utilized to achieve the final result. For us, the structure is the church, both physical and spiritual. Those abilities and talents are YOU! To build City Church together is to know that God has planted you, that specialized talent, here to co-labor with the leadership to bring others into the Family of God. Thereby, building City Church from the vision, or “blueprint”, that God has given us through Pastor Andrew.
// belong (v.) //
To belong is the fruit of rich relationships. It is displayed by the obvious growth of friendships within City Church. It is characterized by taking ownership and giving ones resources of time, energy and finances to see the vision God has given us brought to fruition. Belonging is being a part of City Church and its family of believers in a vibrant and committed way.
Small Groups
This is where relationships and ministry happen! You will find a variety of Small Groups to choose from that are passion driven. City Church has three primary categories of groups that meet every week:
Interest Groups
These specifically encourage and build relationships based around a specific interest that the leader has. It could be centered on crafts, the Internet or business. "Interest Groups" are built with the idea that people of like interest will come together and develop friendships that will naturally bring people into interaction with others from City Church.
Service Groups
These groups give an opportunity to help others within the Church and our Community. "Service Groups" focus on many aspects of life such as "grounds care" for the Church, helping those that are unable to work around their homes or even young mothers.
Life Groups
These are the backbone of City Church! These are Small Groups that meet once a week in homes through out the Tri-Cities. They typically maintain a specific time and place in any given week where they worship, share food and beverage and discuss the message from the previous week that Pastor Andrew has given. These are spontaneous groups where discussion is lively and relationships grow deeper as time and experience together goes by. In these Small Groups you will have the opportunity to question and gain further insight into the word of God. You will have the privilege of praying for others as well as being prayed for by people who genuinely care about one another! This is the place where, as the Lord leads, you and your friends may experience discipleship to the Lord Jesus as well as accountability from folks that really want to see you conquer those aspects of life that continue to hold you back! We strongly encourage everyone who calls City Church their "home church" to be regularly involved and committed to a "Life Group"! We believe that joining one of these groups will be one of the most gratifying and fulfilling decisions you will make!
